The Landscape Architecture Studio of Prof. Christophe Girot will design and invent new landscape topologies in and around Singapore’s Green Corridor. The goal of the studio is to improve local climate conditions and to reduce Urban Heat Island effects through ecological design.  more

Elective Course FS2018 | STREAMS OF RETENTION

We will investigate a dam high up in the mountains of Grisons. This system of water retention and hydropower production and the appearance of these huge infrastructures changed the perception of the alpine landscape forever. By looking and listening on the inside and outside of this entity, you will work on the spatial perception through photography and sound.

The FS2018 lecture series “Theory and Design in Contemporary Landscape Architecture” follows the lecture series “History and Theory of Garden Design and Landscape Architecture”. Rather than concentrating only on questions of style, the series will also tackle issues such as revitalization, sustainability etc. The lectures review design approaches that critically reflect our inherited perception of nature. The themes of site, soil, water and vegetation provide some useful aspects for the design practice. more

Examination for bachelor students in architecture (‘Sessionsprüfung’): The examinations for the bachelors program can be taken twice a year, in summer or winter. It tests knowledge from the lecture series ‘History and Theory of Garden Design and Landscape Architecture’ and ‘Theory and Design in Contemporary Landscape Architecture’.
