Switching Trajectories: A Vision for the Rhine Delta | A project by Matanya Sack & Liesl Vanautgaerden

By giving water a new path and space, we address the environmental and develpment challanges in the Rhine Delta. We offer platforms for living, agriculture, infrastructure and recreation, through the transformation of the trajectory section in space and in time. Parametric cells emerge from the existing and proposed – as a way of characterizing local aspects, environmental and experimental inputs, values and challenges, and integrating them in the design process. But also as a system that enables different conceptions of landscape, enriching and diversifying the existing, in small and big time jumps and in broadly ranging scales. It works like a spectrum between preservation and development; detecting and creating opportunities. It is a vision of complimentary layers – the building of a poetic and environmental distance.
