Dunja Richter studied landscape architecture at the Dresden University of Technology. From 2005 until 2008 she worked at the department of historic garden preservation at Staatliche Schlösser und Gärten Hessen. Her work focused on academic reports for research, maintenance and development of historic gardens. In addition she worked in public relations and published articles about historical topics. Through part-time postgraduate studies at the Monument Academy of the Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz and the Dresden University of Technology she further qualified herself in preservation of historic monuments and restoration. Since 2009 she works as a research associate at the Chair of Christophe Girot. Dunja Richter is co-author of Topologie/Topology (pamphlet 15) and co-editor of Topology – Topical Thoughts on the Contemporary Landscape (Landscript 3).
Her dissertation focuses on the history of garden design and landscape architecture in nineteenth century Switzerland, with a concentration on the trade and use of plants.
