Investigations in Acoustic Phenomena

We will investigate acoustic phenomena and their impact on the perception of landscape. Alternating between theoretical and practical approaches, we will map sonic spatialities on the basis of lectures and discussions with invited experts from different disciplines, and field observations along the urban shore of Lake Zurich.

Goal: Every landscape design influences the sonic conditions of a site – whether intended or not. The aim of this course is to understand sound as an integral part of the spatial experience and design of landscape architecture.
